Discover the lac des sapins, the largest natural swimming pool in Europe
◊ Morning: Having roamed the rolling hills of the Beaujolais, prepare your picnic of local produce at the “relais des
saveurs” in Ponts Tarrets, a farmers market where you will meet the local producers (Monday, and Thursday through
Sunday). Follow the road towards Amplepuis up to the “lac des sapins” where you’ll discover the highlands of Beaujolais
covered in pine forests and vineyards.

◊ Afternoon: Rediscover the pleasure of swimming in a pool that is naturally clean, free of any chemicals. With plenty of
other activities to keep you busy - walking, fishing, bike rentals, electric bikes and three wheeler pedal cars, electric buggies,
gyropode and trampoline facilities, rowing boats, kayaks, catamarans, wind surf and many more….
Return via Tarare, the birthplace of muslin, where you can also visit the famous Lyon Ninkasi beer brewers. The drinking
water in Tarare from the Joux dam, is reputed for its purity and sweetness and therefore is ideal for brewing (cf. week 51)

farm and the Brouilly farm in Affoux. The small flat farm in Valsonne. Guided visits (Déambule), Cheval d’Azergues to
Chamelet a lovely collection of bicycles and sewing machines (cf.week 49). Discovery trails with edible and medicinal
plants at Chamelet and the Ferme du Chapi at Saint Laurent d’Oingt. Carriage rides with ‘Le Bon Temps’ at Ternand.
Gyropode rides around the lake with Mobilboard beaujolais (cf. week 04). Accompanied horse rides between the
Beaujolais villages and forests: cheval d’Azergues at Chamelet, the stables of the vieux pressoir at Bagnols.. (cf. week
◊ Tips: Randoland, available in Cublize (4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years old) free from the Tourist office of Lac des Sapins. In
summer enjoy the “Lac des sapins” free festival. Evening concerts or cinema.
