10 CRUS, 10 REASONS TO DISCOVER ANOTHER BEAUJOLAIS
Visit the first European wine theme parc at the heart of the wine trail
◊ Morning: From Belleville sur Saône, get onto the Beaujolais wine trail taking the Régnié-Durette direction, known
for its twin spired church, built by the same architect as the Basilica of Fourvière in Lyon, Pierre Bossan. Leaving the
village, stop by the Grange Charton, belonging to the Hospices of Beaujeu and admire the typical courtyard. Passing
Villé Morgon, stop by the Saint Joseph Hamlet and take a 10 minute stroll along the “chemin de croix”. Enjoy the
exceptional vistas from the terrace in Chiroubles. Then visit Avenas church, reputed for having a magnificent
12th century sculpted altar.

◊ Afternoon: Don’t miss the exceptional view point from the “madone de Fleurie”. Then discover the famous Moulin à Vent,
a historic monument from the XVth century, being the last in the Beaujolais and the Maconnais district to have conserved its
original structure.
Visit the Hameau Duboeuf (cf. week 39), the 1st European OEnoparc, with 3* in the Michelin leisure guide. This theme park
of 30,000 m2 unveils the secrets of its vineyards, their origins, their implantations and their techniques. Discover the jobs and
related activities surrounding wine and the winemakers with amusing animations, a train station to travel through time,
a garden full of aromas and activities for all the family: a children’s discovery course, holograms, a 3D cinema, adventure
golf, and pedal cars.

◊ Tips: Trade Guild Museum, located in Romanèche-Thorins, explains the concept of special guilds for the building and
construction trades by showcasing the collection of Pierre-François Guillon, a Master Carpenter of the guild known
as «the Duty of Freedom».

Durette village for a 1h30 (minimum of 8 participants) on Wednesday 12th/26th July and 16th/30th August 2017 at
2.30 pm. These tours introduce the territory and vineyards Beaujolais, emblematic buildings as well. After these tours,
a wine tasting can be scheduled within a wine cellar (registration upon booking).
