◊ Morning: Discover, hidden behind the facades of the rue National, the listed Renaissance houses and courtyards . The 24 stage
circuit allows you to discover these historical buildings at your own pace. You may push open specific doors to appreciate the
interior refinement. Map, guide and audio guide are available at the tourist office.
Enjoy some time spent shopping, while ambling along the well known rue “Nat”, the main artery through the town,
over 1km long.
In the dip of the rue “Nat”, visit the Notre Dame des Marais church, enjoy its Romanesque origins to the flamboyant
gothic façade, covered in stone lacework, this church renders homage to Our Lady of the marshes. The 80m high steeple
dominates the town and the flag stones in front are called “Calades” from which the local inhabitants take their namethe
“Caladois”.

◊ Afternoon: Visit the Paul Dini museum (cf. 2017 week 36), on show is a large panorama of artwork of the
Rhone-Alpes region from 1865 to the present day. Previously a grain silo, this building houses a permanent
collection of modern and contemporary art. The Cornil building, previously a textile factory, houses temporary exhibits.
This museum is nationally recognised for its 19th century collection of artwork and a fascinating museum to discover the
life and works of this exceptionnal scientist in a fun and educational way (cf. week 32). In summer, benefit from the Plan
d’eau du Bordelan with a protected swimming area under surveillance (lifeguards on duty from 10am to 7pm).
